This is a scheme to reduce out-of-pocket costs once you have spent more than a certain amount on medical expenses in one calendar year. Although all Medicare card holders are eligible, you must apply through the Medicare/MyGov website or app.
This can be a lengthy administrative task, but it will reduce your out-of-pocket expenses and you are encouraged to complete this task.
-
Other clinics may charge additional fees for the doctor who does the egg collection, certain embryology techniques which we include as standard and even routine embryo transfers because they do not have their own clinic facility.
They may also not list their actual cycle fees but 'estimated out of pocket ****' .
When comparing fees, we encourage you to request ALL costs.

Item description
-
Private health insurance (PHI) only ever covers costs in hospital. This means it will cover day surgery and inpatient stays and anesthetic costs. Depending on your level of insurance there may be an ‘excess’ or ‘copayment’ you will need to pay yourself.
There is usually a waiting period of up to 12 months before you can use PHI towards egg freezing and IVF costs. For people doing one cycle, the cost of the insurance and waiting a year may be higher than just paying for the hospital and anaesthetist yourself. For people who do multiple cycles the insurance may save you a lot of out of pocket costs.
Your insurer will be able to tell you about waiting periods, preexisting conditions excluded and excess fees and copayments.

Success Rates
Success Rates
IVF success rates are difficult to compare. They may differ significantly depending on:
patient characteristics (e.g. age, smoking, health, egg reserves)
cause of infertility
clinic characteristics
donor eggs
the age when embryos cleared
results of embryo testing
whether the repair is a positive pregnancy, an ongoing pregnancy, or a live birth
Unless these factors are taken into consideration, the Senior Association of Fertility Specialists (ANREI) recommends not using ‘YourIVFSuccess’.
Dr Nott’s overall success rates are:
Fresh embryo transfer 41% pregnancy rate
Frozen embryo transfer 51.3% pregnancy rate
Most clinics in Australia are also very good. During your consultation, Dr Nott will discuss with you, your individual factors and success rates.
